When You’re Starting Over Again
Psalm 37 says your steps are ordered—even when you stumble. In this short message, be reminded that starting over doesn’t mean you’re off track. God is holding you. Let August be your reset.

Good morning y'all. It's Saturday Faithfield and I want to share a really quick word. We're in a new month, we're starting things off, we have the opportunity to do a restart, okay. So I am in Psalm 37, and this is the ESV version, in verse 23. It says the steps of a man are established by the Lord. When he delights in his way, though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. So the first time I read this, I don't know I mean, I don't know the first, I don't know the date, I can't give you a date. But I look at this verse in a couple of ways and I wanted to share this with you. The first part, where it talks about the steps of a man are established by the Lord. When we go into this month, now again have here we go again a new month, a new opportunity to start a restart. Um, you know we don't drag dead things into new month, meaning like if plans didn't work again, remember, as you're growing, um, you know, as you're shifting, all those things that you know, even some of the plans or some of the things that I thought was going to happen in july didn't happen. That's okay, we're going to leave that. That's not a baggage. We're not going to bring that baggage into August. But I want us to just come back into this word, where it talks about when he delights in his way. So it's not just delighting in the steps and the things that the Lord establishes for you, it's delighting in the Lord and delighting in what he's given you and just being I'm also so excited about what God has for us in this new month of August. That means that I have to have a different mindset. I have to change my attitude. I have to really focus and be disciplined in the things I got to do in this month of August. Okay, what didn't serve me in July, I'm not bringing it into August, but I'm excited because the Lord has established my steps right and I want to encourage you that if you have things that you're looking to do this month of August, y'all this is going to require discipline. It always does. But this is such an amazing time so spiritually you're hearing the word in probably every church.
Speaker 1:The eighth month represents new blessings, right, new. There's a lot of newness that comes with it. But I also want to encourage you that there might be some things that don't look new to you. You know what I'm saying. If you were, for example, if you were working on yourself and your self-care and your health, and you're still going to have to continue some of the things that you started, because those steps were established but you still have to finish things out.
Speaker 1:Don't focus too much on, you know, on the material things this month. Let's focus on our steps being in alignment with what the Lord is telling me. He's going to give you encouragement, he's going to give you wisdom. You're going to ask for those things and you're going to stay on track, but you've got to be disciplined. We don't want to go again.
Speaker 1:You know, I don't know if you're like me, like I kind of get sick and tired of starting a new month and finishing that month and if I can't see progress, if I can't see where I've made some progress, I'm not, I'm not blaming the Lord. Oh Lord, where, where were you? I'm not doing that. You know there are things that we are responsible for, things that we got to do this month, right, so that we can achieve all the things that we want to achieve, all right. So so the steps of the, our steps, are established this month.
Speaker 1:Um, I thank God that he's going to give us wisdom. We're asking for it and he's going to give us wisdom this month. Um, we're going to have delight, we're going to have fun in the work. Y'all let's have fun with the things that he's called you to do. You know, again I think I shared this earlier this week I was talking to the ladies that you know I don't have the mindset where, as someone who was called to the Lord, that I'm meant to suffer.
Speaker 1:I'm not meant to suffer at all. I'm his right. So I'm going to take great delight in knowing that that he's going to give me. Thank you, lord. Jesus, you're going to give me everything I need at the opportune time. That I'm always in the right place at the right time. That his favor surrounds me as a shield, that no weapon formed against me can prosper. That thank you that he's, he's. He has already established me. He loves me and me so much in Psalm 91 that he has his angels to stand guard, and not just for me but for my household. My home is an access point to have, like I like this is how I'm coming into the month of August, so so I pray that you'll remember that your steps are established and you'll have fun and you're delighted in the things that you're going to do this month. I want you to stay focused on whatever it is, because we're going to finish it, but we are also grateful for all of the new blessings new friends, new partnerships, y'all. Oh my gosh, I'm excited about what we're going to do this month of August. All right, lord, I just thank you for every person under the sound of my voice, those who are waiting for a new opportunity, a new chance, new partnerships, new relationships, just new blessings that they'll receive it this month, and I ask that you'll encourage every person under the sound of my voice that they'll even think about trying something new, a different perspective and just being, you know, encouraged in that area. The new jobs, all of the new things that are coming this month. We're receiving that. We're receiving all of these awesome blessings that you have for us and we're gonna have fun. We're gonna have fun this month of august doing the things because we're established. We we're gonna delight in you. We thank you for your presence and your blessings. Amen.
Speaker 1:It's just that simple, y'all. It's just that simple. I'm wearing a huge. I don't look huge. I look crazy on camera. I was, um, I shared this real quickly I was before I was.
Speaker 1:Uh, when I was dozing off to sleep last night, I was thinking about this this new month and some of the things that I want to change in my own behavior. Um, you know, I'm I'm a reader, so I committed I have a few books that I want to finish out in the month of August. So I have that. I put that on my checklist for the things that I want to accomplish in the month of August and I took those things and I'm saying, lord, help me to make it through, help me on the job, help me in this ministry, help me in my hobby of reading. Like, let me finish this out and then I'm delighting, I'm excited about it. So I'm excited about whatever it is. You got going on right. All right, y'all. That's what I wanted to share with you. Happy Saturday, have an amazing Saturday ahead y'all. I love you. Remember, jesus loves you more and I will see you next week. Bye.
