Your Worth Is Not Defined By What You Own
Reflecting on Proverbs 31, we explore how our true value extends far beyond material possessions and luxury items. God sees our hearts, not our designer labels or status symbols.
• Proverbs 31:10 reminds us that an excellent wife is "far more precious than jewels"
• Material things can be enjoyed but should never define our self-worth
• Many church members aspire to the lifestyle of religious leaders without understanding the sacrifices made
• When walking in your divine assignment, opportunities flow naturally
• Time, health, and relationships are more valuable than any material possessions
• God doesn't see us through our possessions but looks at our hearts
• Your timeline may differ from others - be patient with God's plan for you
• Focus on doing your best where you are with what you have
God loves you deeply, and you are far more precious than any jewel, car, job title, or material possession. Remember that you are wonderfully made and the apple of God's eye.

Good morning y'all. So this is a little bit different of a faith feel. I'm actually getting dressed and I wanted to share something with you while I'm doing that. So I'm in Proverbs 31, which I know a lot of us love to, you know. Go to Proverbs 31.
Speaker 1:There's a specific verse in here and it says an excellent wife. This is verse 10. An excellent wife who can find she is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her and he'll have no lack or gain. She does him good and not harm, all the days of her life. It talks about her seeking wool and flax and working with willing hands, and it talks about her like the ships of a merchant. She brings in food from afar. Basically, it talks about her being a provider. She considers a field and buys it. That shows wisdom, and with the fruit of her hand she plants a vineyard. And talks about being a wise investor, quite frankly. So I want to share this. Just a little bit of encouragement. Happy Saturday. I'm excited about today. Today I'm going to get to go out and spend some time with my daughter.
Speaker 1:I'm saying this is a little bit different because I'm getting dressed, as I'm talking to y'all, because I want to show you something. I'm one of those women who I enjoy luxury things. I've always loved these things. I don't have an obsession like I don't. You know, I don't. I'm not someone who has like massive collections of anything. I just, uh, over time, have developed my own collections of things that I liked, and I do take pride in um pulling some of these that you see me putting on. Some of these necklaces y'all are gifts from over time, but I stack these things and I wear them with pride and joy, and what I don't do, though, is to allow myself to become consumed by them. So, as I'm talking to you today and preparing and thinking about a woman who's far more precious than jewels, I just want to remind us that, even though we enjoy these material things and ado, that we don't lose our value in the things that we own.
Speaker 1:Um, there's so many of us that are going to especially I don't know, it's not just mega churches, y'all, but churches in general, and people are so wanting to be like the pastor, um, or the, the, the, the deacons, um, because they are, you know, they're coming in with the luxury cars and they can afford these awesome things, church ladies wearing red bottoms and everybody wants to aspire to that kind of lifestyle, and so you tend to then get lost in the look of things, the material things, not realizing that in order to to get these things, there were sacrifices that needed to be made time, talent, money. Some of these are just gifts and uh, and I don't want you to lose your value in the things that you own or the way that you look based on um, how uh, successful um you're. You know you're. Again, I'm talking to pastors and talking about pastors and stuff, because most of the people I'm talking to are church members. Forgive me, I'm trying to lock this, lock, this bracelet on.
Speaker 1:So being being someone who's far more precious than jewels is just a reminder that your value isn't tied up in your material things. That's what I want to say, and I'm saying that especially because we're in a season where not only are we seeing so I have all my things on now Not only are we seeing folks becoming envious and jealous of people who have the things, but they also are looking for ways to get to the things they want the new car, they want the best things, they want all these things, and your value isn't tied to these jewels. I hope this is going to help you because, even as I enjoy my things I enjoy wearing my things, I enjoy living a good life the most important things to me is still my relationship with God. It's still my relationship with my family, my daughter both our girls my husband is still. I say, my health is my wealth. It's still having time, carving out time. So time is precious. Time is a value to me. Time is important so I can carve out time to you know, study and just have time with the Lord, time with y'all. Those are the things that are precious and I find great value in that. And so I just want to encourage you not to get caught up in the what and the how. So much of you know people are trying to encourage you to take their courses so you can be rich.
Speaker 1:Let me tell you something when you are walking in your assignment, you know it, it happens with ease. The Lord just sends people, things, opportunities your way when you're operating at your best. So I want you to focus on doing the best that you can where you are, what you have, and not worry about what other people are doing, because, again, that's that's counter to what counter to what the word says. So this is especially for the ladies who love the problems. 31 I love that.
Speaker 1:It encourages us to have wisdom and to invest and to wake up early, getting up ahead of the day and making a plan for the day. Don't just idle by. Don't wait for somebody to come confirm what God told you. Start doing the things that he's called you to do, and if he hasn't, there's sometimes that you know. Sometimes he'll give you the desires of your heart, but it's not for the timeline and there is some things that you have to do in order for you to receive that full gift. So I don't want you to be disappointed if things aren't happening exactly as quickly as you think.
Speaker 1:But you see, all this, y'all All these things here, beautiful as they are, my value is the way God sees me, and he doesn't see me in any of this. He doesn't see you in your awesome shoes and your beautiful house and your awesome car. He doesn't see any of that. He's looking at your heart. He's looking at your heart, your thoughts, your deeds, what comes out of your mouth, and so I just wanted to encourage you this morning to be that person, to be that kind of woman that understands, and men, that our value isn't tied up that honestly.
Speaker 1:We are far more precious than the jewels that we have and I pray, lord, that you'll encourage the person under the sound of my voice to just remind them that they are beautiful and that they're wonderfully made, and that you chose them and that they're awesome. You love them, that they are the apple of your eye, that you love your sons, sons and daughters, that they're far more precious than any jewel, any car, any job, any job title, anything, anything material or God, that they're far more precious in your eyes. I pray today that today that they'll come to know your, your love, in such an amazing way, a different way, and that those who have been cast aside because they are different according to the world, that you just wrap your loving arms around them today and let them know that you are still theirs, me included. Y'all, amen, amen, all right, I hope this blessed you.
Speaker 1:Like I said, it's Saturday, it is Faithful Saturday, it's Georgia and it's dark outside Like it's going to rain, so, thankfully, most of our activities are indoors and we're going to enjoy time together with the family today. All right, y'all have an amazing saturday. I hope you, I hope, uh, I hope it's a good. This is a good one for you. God bless you. I love you. Jesus loves you more. See you later. Bye.
