When Others Do Less but Get More
Faith Fuel tackles one of life's most frustrating experiences: watching people who do the least get the most rewards, recognition, and opportunities. Drawing wisdom from Psalm 37:7-9, we explore how to maintain peace and perspective when facing apparent injustice in workplaces, families, or volunteer settings.
• Recognizing when we're creating negative narratives about others in our minds
• Why harboring frustration only harms ourselves and "tends only to evil"
• How to shift focus from what others are receiving to your personal growth
• Finding peace by waiting on God's timing rather than comparing yourself to others
• Practical ways to reframe your thinking when facing unfair situations
• Using prayer to release frustration and refocus on God's promises for you
• Understanding that God sees your faithfulness even when others don't
Don't worry about what the least is doing. God's got the most for you.

Happy Saturday. This is Faith Fuel and I'm just coming on to give my very short, hopefully encouraging, word. Don't worry about the stuff on my shirt. Let's pay attention, let's focus, because we got something to talk about. Frustrated when it seems like people who are doing the least are getting the most, and I'm talking about maybe they're getting the most second chances, the most opportunities, the most benefit of the doubt, the most grace, then this is for you, this is for us. We are doing life together and I just want to be honest.
Speaker 1:I had that kind of week this week where I was so frustrated because and this again, this might be y'all. This could be someone in your, someone who you're working alongside on the church, maybe somebody you're volunteering with and they seem to be getting like all the cool assignments. Maybe somebody you're volunteering with and they seem to be getting like all the cool assignments. Someone who you work with on the job, someone in your family, your home. Maybe you're planning you know this is the time of year when people are planning all their cool events. You know all the things right, but it seems like the person who's when, it seems like the person who's doing the least is getting the most to get the most reward, the most attention, all the things. I don't want us to get frustrated and I'm going to encourage all of us today. So what I was saying is that happened to me earlier this week on the job, where I was so discouraged and disappointed watching someone who does the least get the most in terms of benefits and just watching that, and I was so frustrated that I literally was like where are you at, lord, and I'm going to throttle back. Okay, but I want to teach you something and I want to share something that's in scripture that I think is going to encourage us, because I don't want us any of us to fall into sin. What happens is, if you start to harbor those feelings like for me, I start to create stories and narratives in my head, I start running through conversations, I remember everything and I'll bring that emotion and feeling into the next week and look at you cross-eyed and so on. You know what I'm saying. So I want to encourage us not to do that when people who believe are doing the least are getting the most.
Speaker 1:So I'm in Psalm 37. The birds are chirping, it's a beautiful day in Georgia. It's nice, it's going to be sunny and warm today. I hope y'all are going to wherever you are, go out and get some sunshine. But I'm in Psalm 37 and verses Psalm 37, verses 7 and 8. And I know I'm sorry, seven through nine, and I know I've shared this with y'all before. But we're just going to lift each other's spirit today and if this isn't happening to you right now, but you know someone who is happening to you, or better that you know this now so that you can encourage and know how to pray for other people. Okay, I know I'm glistening, all right.
Speaker 1:So Psalm 37, verse seven, says be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices, because there's a lot of folks who are doing manipulative things, and some of them don't even know, but they are doing manipulative things right now. Refrain. This is verse eight. Refrain from anger. Now, this is what we got to do. Refrain from anger and forsake wrath. Fret, not yourself. It tends only to evil Meaning. Don't sit and harbor those thoughts about all the things that that man has done and what he should have did and he did. Or that woman, fret, don't. You know. Fret not yourself. It turns only to evil. You start to um, you really start to manufacture things in your mind. It makes you sick. We start to worry, y'all all the things. Let's not do that. It says in verse 9, for the evil doers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the lord shall inherit the land. So I I'm going to read it all again without my intonations Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices. Refrain from anger and forsake wrath. Fret not yourself. It tends only to evil, for the evildoers shall be cut off.
Speaker 1:So I want to encourage us today, if you are dealing with that, where you are dealing with folks again, whether it's it could be in your family, on the job, especially right now there's such a season of people competing with each other, it's crazy y'all. Or maybe you're serving, you're volunteering, wherever you're spending your time, I want to encourage you. When it looks like the people who are doing the least are getting the most rewards, the most benefits, most benefit of the doubt, the most rewards, the most benefits, most benefit of the doubt, and it feels unfair that we, first of all, we are waiting for God. God will move in his time, he will take care of these things. These are not things for us to fret about, to run over our minds, to gossip about, to lose sleep about I'm glistening and all the things today, because I'm not spending my time running that thing over and over.
Speaker 1:I've turned it over to God to say Lord, you see what's happening, you know, you understand what's happening. I don't understand what's happening, I don't know what you're going to do, but I know you're going to protect me. I know that you're going to favor me. I know that you're going to elevate me. I know that you'll promote me in your way. I know that you're going to bless me. So, oh Lord, let me be the peacemaker, let me be the one that people can turn to in the time of chaos. Give me wisdom so I can be a strong leader, a better leader. Show me how to build a coalition of people who work well together. You know, lord, help Like. So.
Speaker 1:Those are the things that I'm praying for, and also y'all, I'm just asking Lord to show himself in a, in a, in a different way. You know, reveal to me the things that I need to work on for myself, right? I don't want to pay attention to what the other person is doing. What do I need to do for myself? Where do you want me to be? You know, just pulling back a little bit and saying, god, is this where you really want me to be? Are you preparing me for more? All the things? So that's what I wanted to share with you.
Speaker 1:When you get so frustrated that the least among you is getting the most, that, psalm 37, seven through nine, is a great way for us to be encouraged. So, father, I thank you for every person who's listening to this this morning, for those who might feel this kind of way. Lord, we are human and we are having these emotions in response to our situations. There's so many people who are competing against each other, even on the job, even within the family, at church, where we volunteer, after school activities, just everywhere. There's such a spirit now, lord, god, that's going around of people just trying to compete, and it seems like those who are doing the least are getting the most. People are trampling over each other and people who are just who we think are in the wrong places.
Speaker 1:So right now, lord, I'm just asking that you even reframe our mind, change our perspective and give us wisdom so that we know how to respond in this season. So when we see things happening, we don't respond out of hate or evil, that we don't fret or worry about what so-and-so is doing, what so-and-so is saying. We thank you for the grace that you have given us. We thank you for continuing to guide our path and any person under the sound of my voice, who's going through this right now, who has any sense of worry or frustration about what anyone, what the person is doing, whatever challenges they're facing, if they're dealing with this right now, that you'll give them first, lord, give them peace, remind them that you are God of all and that they have your favor, that there is nothing that men can do to separate us from you, lord, and that we are blessed by you and that you have declared our path victory. Not any schemes or devices. There's nothing that can stand in our path.
Speaker 1:We thank you that we are in a season of abundance and grace and mercy and goodness coming from you. I thank you, lord, god, that we are the peacemakers and for those who are intercessors, who pray for others, that you lift them up and encourage them, lord, those who aren't seeing the rewards that they thought they would see in this season, that you would encourage them not to lose hope and to be encouraged not to lose faith. Thank you, lord, god, for all of these things we ask in Jesus name. Amen, all right, that's what I have y'all Faithful Saturday. Don't worry about what the least is doing. God's got the most for you. Amen, all right, I love y'all. Have a great day, bye.
