so, so, thank you, so, thank you. Good morning y'all. It's Thursday, come out of the wilderness and I hit play just one minute early. I got a little excited, okay, but I'm so happy to be here. We are in week four of our March series and this week we're going to lean into Deuteronomy and talk about claiming God's promises. But before we do that, I just want to just take two things. First of all, thank you all so much for watching. I'm doing better in the comments. Good morning, dr Tracy. If you're on the Facebook streets, please, if you can help me and share the video. If you're on social media, if you could like the video. That's a free and easy way to kind of support and help us get the word out. And I mean, why not? Y'all? We're trying to inspire and encourage you and, again, like I always say, we're walking alongside you. But I was a little bit excited about today.
Speaker 1:Let me do a quick recap for those of y'all who might be watching. This is the fourth week of this series. There's a new series every month. Thank you, lord. I don't know how he does it, but every month there is a totally different teaching series and it kind of builds off of each other, and our theme for this year of 2025 is the word discipline. So we've been trying to align the way that we think, the way that we work, our spiritual lives, our personal lives, our finances, our health all of those things and applying some level of discipline. So I would say that for the last four weeks this series, what we call it From Basics to Breakthrough I titled it A March Towards Deeper Faith. I would say that this kind of falls within the discipline of our spiritual lives, which is really just hopefully encouraging you to get back in the Bible and you know, and reading and learning more.
Speaker 1:So for the first week, week one, we talked about Genesis and creation. We talked about what Genesis taught us about life and sin and and all those things, and that we were in Genesis, that we talked about how Adam and Eve were in this most incredible blessed place and that yet they allowed sin to kind of destroy that. And so what does that look like for you? Sometimes we're in incredible spaces and places, but we allow sin or thoughts or actions or ideas or words all the things to creep in and destroy our perfect spaces or blessed you know, our blessed spaces. And then, week two, I was in Acts 15 and talking about the justification by faith. I love again, I loved Acts 15. This was around the Jerusalem council, and so I wanted to share what really went down at the Jerusalem council and why it should matter to us what happened during that time in Acts 15 and how that really what I call pivotal moment kind of defines how our faith and how we are justified by faith not our works and not by the law. So that was a really good one about unity and identity. So please go back and catch that replay. And then last week we talked about mentorship and we positioned that through Ruth and Naomi and how that matters, and we got to see it in a different light. We looked at the bond between Ruth and Naomi and how the guidance and support can change our lives without shame or guilt, and so I hope you picked up some great tips. If you are a mentor especially, I was trying to lean in more mentors to pick up on some things that we have to do so that we can improve as mentors, right.
Speaker 1:And then this week we're talking about God's promises and speaking life and claiming God's promises from the word, and I was on a prayer call earlier this week. I was on a prayer call earlier this week and actually what? Today is Thursday, so it was yesterday, and there's a good morning dumping ground, good morning, yes. So I was on this prayer call, pastor Rosa, she's on. Well, she's not just on Facebook, but part of her live stream is also on Facebook and she always leans into Pastor Rosa Herman and you can Google her. She's literally everywhere, but she always talks about speaking life and speaking. You know how we speak truth into our situations and basically the power of the tongue, y'all that we can literally curse ourselves. And I find it so interesting because I think the more you learn about the power of the tongue, the less you want to say because you don't want to say the wrong thing, and for me that's been a little bit of, it's been a weird struggle.
Speaker 1:So I'm going to take us in Deuteronomy, because this is where I go y'all, when I need to be reminded of what God says about me and my circumstances, and for those of us who maybe are standing in need of a blessing and you just need to be reminded of what the words say, I always I pray. When I pray, I use God's word to bring it back and I remind him like, hey, this is what you said concerning me. So, therefore, what you say must be true and I'm in alignment and agreement with what the word of God says about my life. And so, as we're closing out the month of March, it doesn't matter whether you started something and you weren't able to finish it, if you had any form of loss or disappointment, like I don't care if stuff's going great and it's all you know. You're in your blessing season, none of that matters. It's still good for us to be reminded of how we claim God's promises. And again, this is just a great point. You know great way for us to kind of close out the month of March and prepare us for April. Right, prepare us for what's to come.
Speaker 1:So, as I usually do when I go a little bit long, y'all, I'm gonna share my screen. So the what do you call this? Streamyard? I use StreamYard and StreamYard has recently changed and they've recently changed the way they do their layout. So I'm looking at myself like what is happening? What is happening here? All right, so I'm in Deuteronomy 8.
Speaker 1:For those of you who don't have your Bible and I don't suspect you do this time of morning. But for those of y'all who are listening, I am not gonna read the entire chapter Again. This is where I wanna entice you, maybe later today or tomorrow, that you can go and sit down and really drill down into the word. But powerful, powerful, amazing, awesome words that are written in this book for us. And it starts first of all, there are conditions you have to meet right, whether you are a believer or not, in order for you to be blessed. There's something that you're required to do. So it's not just God just throwing these blessings, throwing blessings at you. There's something we got to do.
Speaker 1:And it starts out by saying that if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord, your God, being careful to do his commandments that I command you today, the Lord, your God, will set you high above all the nations of the earth. So we start from a position y y'all that we have to be able to hear his voice, and it's really difficult to hear his voice when all the noise and all the things are happening around you. So for those of y'all who are, maybe I need to hear from the Lord about my particular situation, my child, my job, my project, whatever it is, my health, my money. You know, my friend, my serve, all the things that you need to be in a position where you're hearing that not just here, but you're obeying, you're listening to what he says and God is, you know, listen. Thank you, holy Spirit, for even just remind me, hold on a second, that you will just give us wisdom and understanding so we can, we can, take from this what you need for each of us individually and any confirmation that you provide that you'll draw them back to you. So, thank you, holy Spirit. He was like hold on a second, so it's important, and so that's an example of being able to hear and obey, hear and respond right, because I could have heard it and just kept going right.
Speaker 1:That's not the way God works. So he sets you high above the nations, and so I think about being seated. I call them being seated with kings, and Esther is also one of my favorite, I believe I I don't know I favor her in some ways, but I think about how Esther was set high above, set high with the Kings, and the favor that she got so that that she could do the things for the people that God used her and blessed her. Maybe you being set high above might be, you know winning a project or a deal or you know whatever. It is right. You know blessings, but it's a different level of favor that falls on you Like it is so and it and it is real. I am a living testimony of minding my own business and favor still falling on me.
Speaker 1:I had this happen to me just yesterday, verse two, where it says and all these blessings, whatever the blessings are that the Lord has given you, and again it's kind of written further down that they come upon you and overtake you. So it's not just that we are blessed, it comes upon us. I mean, we get these blessings but it also overtakes us. And when you're in a position when you are blessed and overtaken, when you operate out of that overflow, from the overflow, then you tend to bless other people. So when I ask God to bless my family, y'all, I'm asking for an overflow of blessings so that not only does my family get blessed, that my community get blessed and anyone connected to me get blessed. So I ask for the overflow and it still goes back and reminds us that we have to obey the voice of the Lord. So again, if he is saying you've got to trust me in this season.
Speaker 1:You've got to fill out the application. You've got to make the call. You have to connect with someone on LinkedIn. You've got to. You know, fill out the application. You've got to make the call. You have to, you know, connect with someone on LinkedIn. You've got to watch this live. You've got to. You know, come back in the word. You got to serve in your church, whatever it is, as he's telling you, as you're obeying it.
Speaker 1:A lot of those are is that the Lord is putting you in position. You have to be in position so you can also receive the blessings. You know, if you step off the stoop, if you step outside of the blessings, you tend to miss it. And we step off the stoop because things aren't happening as fast as we. You know, we think it should and God surely didn't put me here and he's like just chill and wait. You know, wait on the Lord, right, and you know so we have to be patient.
Speaker 1:And then it says blessed you shall be in the city and blessed you shall be in the field. So blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and fruit of the ground and the fruit of your cattle and increase of your herds, and all these things. Blessed shall be your basket and blessed you shall be when you come in and when you go out. So when you're speaking about yourself and your life, when I'm speaking, blessings over my life, my family, my friends, this is what I do. I come in here, y'all, and I say I thank you, lord, that I can hear your voice. I thank you that I'm listening to your words, your command. I thank you, god, that you're setting me high above all the nations, above everything. I thank you, god, that the blessings are coming upon me and overtaking me. I thank you that I will be so. This is again. I'm just showing you how I do. You know, in the same way I'm releasing it for myself, I released it for you. Blessed you're going to be in the city. You'll be blessed in your field. Your children shall be blessed. You know, anything you produce shall be blessed. You'll walk in, increase all of those things right. Blessed you shall be when you come in and when you go out.
Speaker 1:And then the other part, verse seven now, is where you kind of like an assurance. If you will, the Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. I personally, it says they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways They'll scatter. So I, personally, one of the things that I love about the God I serve, is that when folks come against me and they do y'all okay. When enemies and sometimes the enemies could be people could be your own self. The way we think about ourselves, the words that we speak, we're literally cursing ourselves. But when that happens, is that I thank you, lord, that you love me so much that you will defeat the enemies He'll take care of it, y'all okay, and that they'll be scattered. So that's another prayer point Lord, cause all of my enemies, whether it's distraction or thought or failing health or anything, cause anything that's meant to defeat me to be scattered seven ways.
Speaker 1:And then verse eight talks about commanding. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns, in all that you overtake. So everything that we do, so I, you know, lord, I received that blessing on my home and anything that I will do, anything that I touch, will be blessed. So before I go into meetings, y'all I say this prayer Lord, that you will bless my hands, that anything that I speak, any ideas that I have, will be blessed, anything that I say will be blessed. And if there's any enemies or anyone that's set up to take me, I'm like, listen, I go into the word before I go to a car.
Speaker 1:It says the Lord establishes you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you. If, again, condition, you've got to follow his word, walk in his ways and then again, coming all the way down, y'all the Lord will make you not you know, we hear this all the time right, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail. You shall only go up and not go down comma if you obey the commandments which I command you, being careful to do them, and if you don't turn aside from any words to the right hand or to the left. Now, when you continue in Deuteronomy 28, it talks about the curses for disobedience and one of the first thing it tells you is that you have to obey his voice and listen to his command.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna stop sharing and come back, because this one, this is really, this is really important. Y'all the Lord isn't going to give you somebody else's portion he's not in the business of, and I'm just again, I'm just going to be like transparent and honest and open with y'all, we doing life together. Okay, my portion is not your portion, your portion is not my portion. I don't want your portion. I don't want your portion. We have to, we have to, we have to be.
Speaker 1:I don't know how do you say this, laura, without people not getting this, but I am grateful for all of the gifts, the talents, the blessings, everything that God has given me, and what he's assigned me to do is my own assignment, so I have to run my own race. So I'm never, ever looking at what somebody else is doing and trying to figure like what did you do and how did you get that? And I just want that right. Never doing that. I'm never in that position, because there is a cost, there is a price that you pay the more that you are blessed. Amen.
Speaker 1:And this lady on LinkedIn, my sister's first name is Kelly, so you're throwing me because this is so much of a confirmation for some other things. So thank you, lord, for that as well, but there is something that we are required to do. So what I don't want us to do is to get the sugar right and I'm just going to claim. You know, I'm going to claim the blessings and blah, blah, blah and forget that there is a condition, that there's work that needs to be done. If I want to be, I'm just going to say, for example, if I want to be a leader on my job, then there are things that I need to do to align me to be a leader on my job, and one of them is discipline, and you know. Two of them is actually having the leadership skills. And three is you know, do you have, do you have, a strategic mindset, or you know what I mean. Like there are things that we have to do, we have to develop so that we can live out the blessings.
Speaker 1:You can't just claim it and it just shows up. This isn't magic. There is work behind it. But the way that we start for me is first, you have to receive and believe that these blessings are actually yours. There are a lot of Christians that are so shocked and surprised when they go to church and the pastor is hype and praying and the worship team is going and the pastor is literally throwing out these small bits and bytes that you are blessed and they're surprised. Why are you surprised? That's what God says. So I also want to encourage you to go in and see for yourself and then come out of your prayer closets right, because you have to come out of the church right, you got to go in the parking lot. Come out of your prayer closet because life is lifing right, and then really, truly experience and speak what God says concerning you. You have so many examples in Deuteronomy 28 that you can open up and you can pick a couple and speak that over your life. I am blessed. I am blessed, I'm overtaken in blessings. I thank you, lord. I received that. I have a sound mind so that I can hear from you clearly, lord, that no harm comes near my tent, that you will remove every enemy, that you will scatter them.
Speaker 1:You have to get comfortable speaking life over your own life and claiming and receiving and believing what God says for you. The more you speak it, the more you also train your mind how to respond to certain things coming at you. Because if you know that you are supernaturally favored and blessed, you're not in competition with anyone. You're just sitting back like. I know Abba's going to take care of me. That is my position all the time. I don't have to compete. I know Abba's got me covered, right. I don't have to speak about myself. Even Abba will take care of that. People will speak about me, good or bad, all right. So that's speak life where, like I said, claiming God's promises in Deuteronomy, one of my favorites.
Speaker 1:I hope that you will go in here if you're looking for, you know, as you're going into a new month, maybe this is what you do to set yourself up to be successful in the month of April. You come in here this week, this weekend, y'all. You pull out a few, maybe pull out a few of the blessings you know, put them on your phone, put them somewhere and then, literally, when you wake up, as you, you know, you don't have to go into your prayer closet for this. This is not about a physical thing, this is a spiritual thing. Okay, so, you, you, you know, you wake up, you open your eyes, you know.
Speaker 1:Thank you, lord, for, for the grace of the day, thank you for letting me see this day, and you start claiming those. Lord, I thank you that you, you know you're blessed. You bless my hand that I'm the head and not the tail. I thank you, lord, god, that all that you've commanded for me is for me. Thank you that you're going to bless me in the land. I think that you've established me. You know all those things. Blessed is my, my, my fruit, blessed is my field. You know. Thank you for over to all those things and start speaking life over yourself. So that's what we have this morning. I'm going to close with prayer and I just want to thank you, lord, for just reminding us of what your word says concerning us, that we are a blessed people, that we are no longer cursed. The curse was broken. Thank you, lord Jesus, for your sacrifice. I thank you for just pouring fresh oil on all of us.
Speaker 1:There's so many people who are going through a very tumultuous season right now, with things going up and down all at the same time, but even so, no matter what is happening around us, we stand on the covenant promises, we stand on what your word says in Deuteronomy and, because it is your word, it is absolutely true. We stand and we believe what you say. And so as we align, lord God, our lives, our gifts, our talents, our desires, our families, our kids, our paychecks, everything, as we align everything right back to you, lord, we give it back to you and we ask that you now determine our step. We want to be established where you put us, so that no harm comes near us. Nothing can move us, but that we are getting a fresh, a renewal, a reminder of how blessed we are.
Speaker 1:Lord God, for those who are in a season now that they can't see the blessings because of all the things that's going on on their jobs or in their businesses, lord God, even now, I ask that you remind them of the blessings, of what you've done for them. Holy Spirit, some of us just need to be reminded of what you brought us through just last week so that we can hold on and be faithful to your promises for us, knowing that there is always victory at the end for those who believe. Your word says that all things are working together for our good, for those who love the Lord, and we love you. We receive that and we believe that. Amen. So that is y'all. That is what I want to share with y'all this morning.
Speaker 1:Next month oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm already saying next month, but in April our series will be rest and we're going to talk about reflecting and after you come off of such a rough, just being honest, first quarter, january, february, march, whether you're working or not, it's been a rough time for being honest, first quarter, january, february, march whether you're working or not, it's been a rough time for a lot of folks emotionally, physically, all the things that we're prepared for a new month in April. But we're going to talk about how we kind of put ourselves in a position of rest so that we can start receiving some of the things that we've been praying and asking God for. Isn't that awesome? All right, so that's what I had. Y'all.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much for those of y'all who were able to catch me live and for those who also watched the replay. Shout out to those who also listened to us on the audio streets. I hope you have an amazing day. Please be kind to yourself and your neighbor. Remember we have a prayer phone line. You can call in twice today, on Thursday, the number scrolling on the screen, you know. Please tap in y'all if you need someone to pray alongside you. So God bless you. I love you, jesus loves you more, and y'all have an amazing day.
