How Proverbs 31:15 Teaches Us Discipline and Faith in Uncertainty
Picture yourself on a chilly morning, the world still cloaked in darkness, as you rise with a purpose that transcends the physical act of waking up early. Inspired by Proverbs 31:15, I share the profound freedom that discipline and commitment can bring into our lives. This episode promises to transform your understanding of discipline, not just as a routine but as a profound mental and spiritual dedication to your aspirations. Together, we'll explore how setting a clear vision and staying true to it, even when the path is not fully visible, can lead to remarkable growth in areas like health, career, spiritual development, and finances.
The journey doesn't stop there. As we edge closer to 2025, there's an undeniable power in sharing the wisdom and encouragement we've gathered along the way. This episode is a heartfelt reminder of the goodness in our lives and the ripple effect of positivity that occurs when we share it with others. I'll speak on the importance of gratitude and prayer, and the joy of spreading knowledge without gatekeeping. Whether you're at the start of your journey or well along the path of discipline, my hope is that you'll find inspiration and a sense of community as we unveil the secrets to achieving our dreams and helping others do the same.

Good morning, all right. It's another Saturday, faith Fuel, and I'm moving you around just a little bit because I have to get us settled. I just want to tell you something really quickly this morning. Happy Saturday. I hope you are having a good morning. If you're not up already, get up. What you waiting for, all right? So I wanted to share something in scripture, out of probably one of your favorite scriptures. I know a lot of ladies love to turn to Proverbs 31. Men do Turn to Proverbs 31. And I wanted to share something just really quickly. Just, I think, encourages this year 2025.
Speaker 1:Remember, our theme is being disciplined, and a girlfriend of mine I don't want to drop her name on the streets, but a girlfriend of mine dropped a quote in our shared chat this morning about the freedom that comes with discipline, and there's something so freeing when your mind is right, when you are kind of clear about where you want to go, what your priorities are, and then you start to be obedient to that, you start to commit to that. So, for example, you know, faith Fuel, I'm on here every Saturday morning, y'all, and so this means that 52, there's 52 teachings that will happen this year and I'm committed to that. It means I have to be disciplined. You know, I have to end my Friday night in a certain way so that I can hear from the Lord. Clearly, I have to wake up at a certain time so that I can hear from the Lord. Clearly, I have to wake up at a certain time so that I can, you know, produce right, produce the work, and there's discipline involved. And after I'm finished here, there's things that I have to do. You know, if you're on the podcast, you know all the stuff we got to do right, we got to run stuff by, get things cleared and then we got to post out. So there is discipline involved even in this.
Speaker 1:But Proverbs 31, I wanted to share really, really quickly about, you know, something that's in here and this is Proverbs 31 verses. I'm going to say we're in verse 15. She rises while it is yet night. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. And what I wanted to pull out of this is we're talking about rising while it's yet night. It's not just about. So, lord, we just thank you for this day, thank you for your wisdom and how we can apply your practically into our lives. Thank you for the encouragement you're going to give somebody anybody, male or female, under my voice, about getting up. Getting up, amen.
Speaker 1:So it's not just about rising when it's still night, meaning it's not just about setting your alarm clock. I see all these trends, y'all, y'all. We come up with a trend for everything 4 am trend, 5 am morning, you know CEOs saying I don't even go to sleep. Come on, y'all, you need rest. Okay, but it's not just rising.
Speaker 1:When it's related to getting up early in the morning and kind of getting ahead of the day, that does create great discipline. So set your clocks, y'all, and you know, maybe you pick a time of the week or the day. I pretty much wake up early every day because every day I'm disciplined to do something. If I'm not going to my day job or something related to ministry or something else, right. But it's also where it talks about rising when it is yet night. That is for me, when you still don't see like the clear path ahead, but you're still committed to do the work, you're still getting up and going after that thing.
Speaker 1:Um, when it, when something is, when you're thinking about nighttime or darkness, or you know I'm I'm not talking about evil, darkness now, or I don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm talking about when things aren't very clear to you this year. But you know what the Lord showed you to do. So, for example, if you are working on again, we have the five foundations, five areas right, your health, or maybe it's your career and professional development, maybe it's your spiritual walk, maybe it's your finances, or maybe it's your personal right, meaning your personal growth, around your mindset, your relationships and your own self-care. But maybe the Lord is showing you and you said you know, lord, I wanna do a better job this year around my health, and that means that I have to, you know, do certain things differently.
Speaker 1:Rising when it's still at night and talks about providing food, it means that that is a productive time. So even right now, like we're at the beginning of the year, it's January 3rd y'all and no, we don't know how everything is going to turn out this year, but we have our expectations and our hopes. And even right now, like we're still very excited, we just came out of the holidays and people tend to get like real jazzed up and excited and by March they March March and June they lose steam. But how you don't do that is you set the schedule. You, you are consistent when you're getting up to do the thing. So, even when you don't know exactly where you're going, you just put one foot in front of the other and we're gonna make this happen.
Speaker 1:If it's your health, we know that we've got to work on our dietary intake. We're gonna change the food. Like, look at me, y' I'm breaking out because I already messed up and had too much sugar, too much candy, like little things like that. I'm like, come on, girl, it's day three, right, so, but we still gonna put one foot in front of the other, right?
Speaker 1:And then, when it talks about providing food for her household and portions for her maidens anyone who is, you know, when you think about you know you might not have people working for you in your household, but I think about portioning out I think about anyone who God's put in your circle, in your environment, around your family, that you're meant to help and take care of. You're setting some things aside for other people. So I'm even going to encourage y'all, um, you know, just looking through your, your whole environment in your home and, like I'm doing this today, what are some of the things that I can portion off to other people who might need it. We send stuff to or we take stuff to goodwill. Maybe you have something that you want to deliver, um, but looking, looking at your home and your environment and how you want to change it. I want to make great changes in my home environment this year. Y'all we haven't bought furniture in 20-something years and I'm literally just looking around at what are the small changes that again, hear me say small. What are the small changes I can make so I can change the environment, so that my family will be comfortable, right and providing for them better food? I'm going through old cookbooks, you know, and what are some of the things that I could do. You know I'm not encouraging you, I'm not saying you got to be Martha Stewart and Susie Homemaker, but I'm just thinking again because, remember, we have finance on our list. So what are some of the things we can do that could help build our finance but also help the environment and our home?
Speaker 1:So, rising while it is yet night? Don't waste the time. Y'all. Be on a schedule, be accountable so you know, so that you can, by the end of this year, you look back and you can see what you have done.
Speaker 1:It's not just asking God to bless you we got to do the work right done. It's not just asking God to bless you we got to do the work right. It's one thing to ask God. He's going to give us the grace and the mercy. He's just so good. I don't have to hunt or beg for opportunities for anything because, as I am focused on doing these small things, he will. He will give them to me. He's going to open the doors according to his time, but I have to be prepared to receive, so I hope this encourages you. That was Psalm 31, verse 15. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her means. We're going to be great providers, but we have to have some kind of discipline and order with it. This year I hope this wasn't too chatty and I hope this kind of blessed you. Maybe you're in the same space where I am.
Speaker 1:Like I said, I'm going to be more quiet this year because I'm in a seed planting season. Part of the seeds that I have to plant. I have to plant seeds in my own health. I have to plant seeds in my career, professional growth. I have to plant seeds in my finance. I have to plant seeds in my spiritual growth and I have to plant seeds in my career professional growth. I have to plant seeds in my finance. I have to plant seeds in my spiritual growth and I have to plant seeds in my personal life, my self-care, my home environment, and I want all of these things to bless my family and everyone who's attached to me in any way y'all.
Speaker 1:As I'm learning, as I'm growing, as I'm getting the wisdom, as I'm being blessed, I'm passing that to y'all. I'm being blessed. I'm passing that to y'all. I'm not gatekeeping anything. So I thank you, god, for this Saturday. I thank you for this word of encouragement that maybe someone who is joining me on this journey of discipline 2025, that you know this will this has encouraged them and they'll encourage somebody else. I thank you, god, for all that you have for us. You are so good to us. Thank you for blessing us with this day. In your name, we pray Amen, all.
