Speaker 1:

Good morning y'all All right. I'm getting ready for Faith Fuel. I am just grabbing my coffee, right quick, before I take a seat. It is Saturday and I hope everybody is doing okay and thank you so much for watching, so let me just grab. See, I'm grabbing my coffee y'all. So, first off, I wanted to just check in and see how you're doing, so please drop in the comments and let me know how y'all are doing today. I'm actually excited. I'm having a really good morning and I'm going to have a great day, and I'm looking forward to today because we get to spend time with some girlfriends today and my daughter and just quality time hanging out, which is always good, right, this is a season of miracles and wonders and all the things. Right, I love Christmas. This is my favorite time of year. There we go.

Speaker 1:

Hey, y'all All right, but I do have a quick teaching that I wanted to share with you, which is why I'm here. So, father, we just thank you for this Saturday morning. I thank you for breath and life and renewal and the newness that comes with it. I thank you for this Saturday morning. I thank you for breath and life and renewal and the newness that comes with it. I thank you, god, for every person under the sound of my voice who's here to hear your word, and may they be blessed. I pray, holy Spirit, that you'll interact and interrupt their day in such a powerful way that they'll come to see you and not me, and that through me you'll be glorified. Lord, god, I pray that every person who stands in need of encouragement to just walk a different walk, a closer walk with you, lord Jesus, that they'll get that today. Thank you, lord, for everything. Amen. We got to start with prayer, y'all All right. So here's what you like. My hat, this little hat, came from one of my favorite stores of all time. I'm not going to say it here because I'm not trying to sponsor nobody, so I wanted to share this scripture.

Speaker 1:

This is Philippians 2, verse 5. The context of the chapter talks about Christ, the example of his humility, and it talks really about you know. It says in verse 1, so if there's any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being this being of the same mind. So this is Paul's letter to the Philippians, talking about being the same mind, having the same mindset. And again. He was writing this. He was writing this to those who were in charge, was writing this to those who were in charge. The folks were in charge. You call them the overseers and the deacons, but I'm talking to us overseers and deacons in our lives, christians, all of us believers.

Speaker 1:

But specifically in verse five it says have this mind among you, which is yours in Christ Jesus. And a lot of times you'll hear people talking about having the mind of Christ. And what does that do? It means that when you start to think in the way that Jesus does, when you have the mind of Christ, there are some things that you change your perspective on a lot of things and people, and I don't want to say this means that you allow anyone or anything to just run you over. That's not what I'm saying. Jesus was the epitome of humility in the fact that he came right, he descended, he came from heaven to come here and mingle with us. Okay, being among us the least of these, right, and a lot of us refuse to even do that. We refuse to yield and be considered the least of anything because we are so full of ourselves, quite frankly. But I want to share this, um, this example with you of having the mind of christ and, um, and really important, the question that I was uh gonna pose is is whether or not your prayer life is matching up with your reality. Does your prayer life match up with your reality? I'm gonna pull you on a little bit closer, I don't know why I'm so far, but does your prayer life match up with your reality?

Speaker 1:

I was watching this reality show yesterday. Before you Judge Me, it's Queer Eye and it's on Netflix and it's the episode season nine, and it's a woman, it's about Mother's Day. Also, don't demonize people because you don't know what they carry. Okay, but this was an incredible episode. I loved it. Here's why there was so the men. If you watch the show, there are five men and they each have different things that they're specialized in uh, design, um, uh, hair, um, fashion, meaning clothes.

Speaker 1:

Like you know, it's basically a kind of a renovation of people type thing, okay, but they went to this woman's this, this woman's house and she was a single mom of one and they walked in her house and then they're going through her, her space, and she, she introduces herself. Actually, she didn't have to introduce herself. They walked in her house, child, and she had Psalm 91 on the wall. You know, on a piece of paper tacked on the wall, she had some Bible verses and a Bible open like as soon as you walked in her house. So they walked in and literally scattered all around her house were all of these scriptures, biblical scriptures. It looked like her prayer closet, vomited all over her apartment and it was literally everywhere. It was littered everywhere. One of the gentlemen said to her when she walked in she embraced all of them and she was so filled with love and joy and she hugged every one of them. And one of the gentlemen said to her y'all can go back and watch this for yourself, because I'm trying to contextualize it real quick said her that that, um, he has a he has difficulty dealing with, like us Christian folks, and it's mainly because of the judgment and some of the hate.

Speaker 1:

Basically, let's just be clear what was really interesting about this show was, although she had these prayer points and she could drop the Lord's name and do all the things, her value and sense of value, her life wasn't matching her. Her reality didn't match her prayer life. She was praying to God for victory, she was praying for protection. Like I said, she had Psalm 91. She had all of them right Psalm 91, psalm 23. She had all of them. She literally had them in all different places.

Speaker 1:

It was very clear that this woman had a really strong faith and they actually said that you have really strong faith. But her faith didn't match up with her reality. Her house was a mess. She had gone through some losses. She was in a job search. She, financially, was struggling. She was someone who had a heart for people. So in her career, what she did as a care manager, it just didn't match up.

Speaker 1:

Y'all Her prayer life and her reality weren't matching up. Some of the things that she wanted for herself, what she was praying for, it, wasn't yielding in reality. Because of her mindset, because she was still holding on to the brokenness and pain and bitterness and things that had happened. She had not let those things go, so it wasn't playing out. Though she was a strong, amazing, beautiful woman of faith, she didn't even see her own value. The way that God saw her God sees her right. The way that God saw her, god sees her right she didn't even see her own value. And so by the end of the show, not only did she go through a physical kind of renovation. Right, she got the hair done and the whole things.

Speaker 1:

But she started to walk through this process where actually these men, who many of y'all would demonize, started to play out God's love in a different way and she met their love with love, but they started to pour into her to, you know, to to remind her that she's beautiful and she has value and she's a good mom. And she started to. You can see how her shifting her mind when I talk about the mind of Christ that she started to. You could see how her shifting her mind when I talk about the mind of Christ that she started to see herself according to how Jesus sees her as this beautiful soul that you know that he cherishes and he loves.

Speaker 1:

And so this verse, when it talks about have this mind, have this mind among yourselves, is so important. You could have a powerful prayer life with scriptures all over your house. You could have you know the right quote Bible. You could go to the right church. You could drive you know right car, you could sit in the right. You could have all of these things.

Speaker 1:

But you have to have a mindset that is aligned with Jesus and what he says about you where he says you're going to go. You have to align with that. When he gives you something, oh my gosh, it's so amazing, like when the Lord says I'm just looking down my Bible, philippians 1 verse this is 1 verse 6, and it says and I'm sure of this that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. So even some of the things that we're expecting that he started in our lives, it says at completion at the day of Jesus Christ. So even some of the things that we're expecting that he started in our lives, it says at completion at the day of Jesus Christ. So we're gonna keep working on some of these things beyond time. I guess you know what I'm saying. Everything is gonna happen like 2025 or 2024, you know.

Speaker 1:

But that is what I mean about having the mindset right Is being in alignment with what Jesus actually says. So I wanna encourage you today that, as you are doing your thing, as you're straining towards the goal, as they say right, you know, as your prayer life, as you're leaning into prayer, building up your prayer life, your prayer muscles again, as you're humbling yourself before him, you're confessing your sins, not somebody else's okay. You know I want you to start. You know asking him. Father, give me the mind of Christ. That's something I ask for. Give me your perspective. Let me see things the way you see things, lord, and you'll be surprised, because sometimes he shows you things that again, just sharing to be open.

Speaker 1:

One of the biggest problems I used to have I don't have that no more, I think it's fixed now is letting go of people, places and things. I would be holding on to stuff forever and ever. I even just did a mini declutter in my house just because I was holding on to things. So, the mind of Christ, I was having a scarcity mentality, holding on to things because I didn't truly trust that Jesus would bless me. I'm just being for real. So the mind of Christ doesn't tell you that he's not a God who's bringing you chaos or crazy. There is order and discipline, right. But you got to have that mind of Christ to kind of match your prayer life. So if I'm praying, lord, bless me, lord. Thank you, lord for this day. Fight against those. Here's the one, psalm 35. Contend with those who can contend against me. Fight those who fight against me.

Speaker 1:

And then you go out and you start gossiping and cussing people out, right, then you're not. Actually. You don't have the mind of Christ. He's not fighting for you because you're busy fighting for yourself, right? You knowing your value, knowing how much Jesus truly loves you, knowing how much he loves you, right, having his mind, his mind the way that he thinks, knowing that your life is worthy in the kingdom, and asking him to reveal to you, lord, how do you see me and what do you want me to do? I want your mindset. I want to think the way you think. I want to operate the way you operate, lord, I want to be more like you, jesus. So that I thought so. I hope that helped y'all.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was such a good episode. Again, you know, please don't demonize people. If you watch it, you watch it. If you don't, you don't. But that was just a powerful example of how you could have an amazing power life, a prayer life. Excuse me, you could have a great prayer closet, but you could still not have the mind of Christ and your prayer doesn't match up with your reality.

Speaker 1:

So, father, for those under the sound of my voice who are asking Lord, we want our prayers to match up with our reality, the things that we're asking for in the spirit, lord God, we yield to your direction, we yield for you to show us where to go and who to speak to and the work to be done. We want our realities to match up to the prayers, all of the victories and all of the blessings and all of the access, lord God, and all of the discipline, everything that you have for us, lord God, we want that to match up with our reality. All the families that are seeking you out this season and asking for your grace and your high favor, lord, we ask that those prayers become our reality. Those who are standing in need, financially, of health, issues, of whatever. It is, lord God, everything that they're crying out to you in prayer, lord, we want all of those things to operate, to be in our lives, to be in our realities.

Speaker 1:

So we ask, lord God, that if there's any portals, that we have opened, any gates, lord God, anything that we have done or said any cursing that we have opened any gates, lord God, anything that we have done or said, any cursing that we have done, any envy or jealousy that's in our hearts, anything that's going to stop us from receiving the blessings from the prayers, from the seeds that were sown. Anything that is hindering us from seeing the blessings from those prayers, lord God, in our reality, lord God, would you shut every door that was never meant to be open? Things that are not ours, we give them back to the rightful owners. We don't even want things If it wasn't for us that you didn't give it to us, lord God. If you didn't give it to us, lord God, we don't want it. So I thank you, lord, for everyone who is believing in you this season. We don't want it.

Speaker 1:

So I thank you, lord, for everyone who is believing in you this season, for a mighty victory in their lives, a mighty blessing that they will come to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. We want to see our prayers, lord God, operating in our reality. Thank you, lord. Amen, isn't that awesome. I hope that blessed y'all. I hope that really blessed y'all. I hope that really blessed y'all, amen. I hope that really blessed y'all. I hope that really blessed y'all, amen. All right, I love y'all.

Speaker 1:
