Speaker 1:

Happy Saturday y'all. So I want to share a Bible story with you that I think is going to encourage you to keep moving forward, especially if you're looking to level up or get to your next level. For us, we're in the season of Rise Again. That's our theme for September, but I want to share this Bible story with you and I pray this is going to help you, because it really helped me. I'm in Numbers 13, and I'm in the ESV, vigil, a Shelley version, and I jest.

Speaker 1:

And this is the story where the spies, the Lord, said to Moses I'm going to try to contextualize it because it's pretty long. So Numbers 13 and 14 is our Bible reference. And the Lord spoke to Moses and told him send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel, and giving instructions from each tribe, send a man. For each tribe, it says, of their fathers, you shall send a man, everyone, a chief among them. So these are experts that the that are being sent out to go scope out the land of Canaan Further down. You see that in verse 17,. This is number 13,. Moses sent them. So he followed through. He sent them to spy out the land and told them you know, see what the land is, whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, if there are few or many, if the land that they dwell in is good and bad, or good or bad, or whether the cities that they dwell in are camps, which is one thing, or strongholds, camps where you can literally inhabit, live in strongholds, you cannot have issues. Okay, so they went up and they spied out the land and at the end of 40 days it tells us in verse 25 that they came back from spying out the land and they went to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation. So they went back to the people and they told them where they brought back word and it says that you know, this is the fruit of the land. And they told them we came to the land to which you sent us. It says it flows with milk and honey and this is the fruit of the land. And they told them we came to the land to which you sent us. It says it flows with milk and honey and this is its fruit. So they showed the fruits of the land. However, they said in verse 28, the people who dwell in the land are strong. The cities are fortified, very large, and besides, we saw the descendants of Adam. So basically, we saw some enemies, we saw some issues. We went to that place that's promised to us, but we saw some issues there and they were already talking about the promise. They saw the promise, but then, in their same breath, they also saw the doubt. So they saw the blessing but they also saw the doubt.

Speaker 1:

I hope this is going to resonate for some of y'all. Now. Verse 30 says Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said let us go up once and occupy it, for we are, we are well able to overcome it and believe that the reason Caleb believed that is because he was trusting in what God says. Right now we come down into, into 14, and it talks about the congregation raising up a loud cry and people crying and people falling apart oh my gosh. And all they grumbled against Moses and Aaron, the whole congregation, you know. Would that we have died in the land of Egypt or would that we have died in this wilderness? Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to fall by the sword? The Lord has promised me this job and he's promised me this child, and you know. But why would he let me, you know, go through all these things. Why is it not turning out the way I thought it would? You know, they're grumbling against the promise of God. Oh gosh.

Speaker 1:

Now in verse in Numbers 14, in verse 11, the Lord says to Moses how long will these people despise me and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I've done among them? So here's my encouragement to you, because after that, you know, moses went into intercede on behalf of the people and asked the Lord. You know again. You know, lord, we've seen you in our midst. We've seen the pillar by night. We've seen how you've taken us out of some situations. I'm related to stuff that we're going through right now.

Speaker 1:

God has promised you something and you have experts who have gone ahead, who've said you know, yeah, you could get into that marketing field. Yeah, you said you know, yeah, you could get into that marketing field. Yeah, you could start that podcast. Yeah, you could write that book. It's going to be hard because you've got competition. Yeah, you could. You know, yeah, you can apply for that job. It's going to be tough because there's a lot of people. You know, there's a lot of people going for that job. You know, yeah, you know. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

Like, you know all, all, all of the things that we put in our minds, like God has promised us, and then we, and five minutes later, we, we come up with it. Yeah, you know. Yeah, that's true, my family can be restored, my finances can be restored, but I'm going to have to do better with savings. I might have to tie. So I don't know if I could do it. We literally build up, we start knocking down his word, like we start knocking down his blessings. We start creating the why we can't do it. If you will, how we can't do it, and I love how. Again, thank you, lord, that he reminds us.

Speaker 1:

He said how long will these people despise me? Like, how long are y'all going to despise me? How long are you going to go without trusting me, despite all of the signs I have given you that I will provide for you right, that I am still God, despite all the things that I've blessed you with, despite everything? We tend to look at what's not working in our life. We tend to look at what's falling apart. If we're honest, we tend to look at the strongholds in our life and we totally miss the blessings. Even in pain there's a blessing. How long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them, not sent, done Things that the Lord, God, has done in your life for you? If you sit back and go, my God, thank you, lord for what you have done for me. If you sit back and just think about all the things that he has done for you, the signs that he has given you, that he is for real, real that he is blessing you, that he has given you, that he is for real, real that he is blessing you, that he's protecting you, how long will they not believe in me?

Speaker 1:

If you go on to read um in numbers 14, you read that the people really struggled, the people who went out to spy the land. Only Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb remained alive. Moses told these words to all the people of Israel and they mourned and they rose early and they went up to the hill country saying here we are, we will go up to the place that the Lord has promised for we have sinned. But Moses says why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will knock the seed Don't go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. Why are you doing this now?

Speaker 1:

So my encouragement is the land that God has promised you. Now. It is between you and him. What he has told you, what he has for you. Right, you got to believe him, even when it looks, quite frankly, even when it looks like it is impossible. That's when God operates, because if you can do it, and I can do it, we don't need him. I live in the land of impossibility. I live in the land of doing things so big that God has to be in it in order for it to succeed.

Speaker 1:

In order for me to win, in order for me to be blessed, he has to be in the mix, and I just want to remind y'all don't forget, don't forget, don't forget all the signs that he sent you through confirmations, through people, through scripture. Yeah, all the signs that he sent you Through confirmations, through people, through scripture. Yeah, all the signs that he sent you that he's got you covered. I hope this blesses you as you're moving into this new season of your life. We are turning pages, we are moving forward, we are soaring this year.

Speaker 1:

This is September and we're midway, halfway through September, but even if you watch this message in October, there's still time for you to keep moving forward. There's still time for you. So I pray that this is going to encourage you. Don't let fear overtake your blessing. Keep moving forward.

Speaker 1:

Remember the signs that God gave you. He might not give it to everybody else. I'm telling you, the Lord shows me things concerning other people and it's just, really just for me to not say nothing but mind my business. He shows me things for myself that I don't need to share with anybody. That's between me and my Abba, but he's still with us. So, lord, I thank you for every person under the sound of my voice who is trying to make a decision on where to go next, those that you have sent ahead of them to scope out where they are going and bring them back good news. Lord, I ask that you will just reinforce that within us, that those signs, those things that you have said to us, lord, god, bring it back to our memory with the words that you have given us concerning our lives and decisions that we make, so that we don't hide. We don't hide, but we go in and overtake that land of milk and honey. God bless you. Bye.
